| Infor Delivers Real-Time Event Management CRM Software for Retailers
An event can be anything from a customer abandoning their online shopping cart to a series of dropped cell phone calls in a short period of time. Many traditional CRM tools are not able to synchronize, in real time, information between the customer database and the event management system to benefit from the marketing opportunities generated by events. These missed opportunities cost retailers millions in lost sales annually. The latest version of Infor CRM Epiphany Outbound Marketing generates real-time, event-triggered offers that support campaign goals by integrating the data between the outbound marketing and event management systems. This advanced functionality places a retailer's message in front of the customer at a time when they are most motivated to act. "Understanding customer needs and delivering a consistent, positive customer experience are paramount to a retailer's success, especially in today's highly competitive market," said Dr.
Missing person
The top ranks of finance and investment banking are filled with super-achievers who value long hours and a mastery of detail. There is no room for weakness, no honour in frailty. For decades in this competitive climate, Peter Liebel climbed to the highest levels, all the while battling depression. The investment banker served on the boards of Ottawa-based companies and entertained generously from corporate hospitality suites. He owned comfortable homes in Ottawa and Mont Tremblant, and seemed confident and quick to laugh. Only occasionally did his demeanour hint at insecurity. .

Lower budgets point to advertising fall
The media industry is braced for an advertising downturn after news that marketing budgets were revised down for the first time in a year during the last quarter of 2007. In the steepest decline for almost two years, 4.4pc of marketing budgets fell, indicating that companies are bracing themselves for a weakening economy. According to the quarterly Bellwether report, produced by the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising, cuts were most widespread in consumer goods, financial services, cars and the industrial sector. .
Russian hacker trio jailed for cyber attacks
Three Russian citizens have been jailed for eight years each for extorting money from UK ecommerce companies. Ivan Maksakov, Alexander Petrov and Denis Stepanov were all sentenced on Wednesday. They were accused of receiving $4m from companies that they threatened with cyber attacks. The trio concentrated on UK internet gambling sites, according to the prosecution. One bookmaker, which refused to pay a demand for $10,000, was attacked and brought offline - which reportedly cost it more than $200,000 per day in lost business. Maksakov, Petrov and Stepanov were arrested in 2004, through a joint operation between the UK National Hi-Tech Crime Unit (NHTCU) and the Russian authorities. The Serious Organised Crime Agency (Soca), which has now replaced the NHTCU, confirmed the three had been jailed and fined 100,000 roubles (2,000) each.
