| New Occupational Pensions Trust to challenge buyout firms
A senior City pensions guru is launching a new "co-operative" for pension funds, with arm's-length support from the company that owns BT's telephone exchanges. Robin Ellison, the vice-chairman of the National Association of Pension Funds, said the new business aimed to rival the slew of pension buyout companies that have emerged in recent years, such as Mark Wood's Paternoster and Eddie Truell's Pension Insurance Corporation (PIC). But the new company, Occupational Pensions Trust, will not buy out the schemes. It will simply take control of them and merge them with other funds, achieving cost benefits in the process. .
UCLA's Love, Blue Hens take home Weely Watch honors
The former Saint Joseph's assistant has the Blue Hens leading the Colonial Athletic Association at 5-0 (8-7 overall) after a double-overtime win against Old Dominion on Saturday. Delaware knocked off George Mason in overtime earlier in the week after being down 19 in the game. The Blue Hens got 23 points from Georgetown transfer Marc Egerson in the win over the Patriots. Senior forward Herb Courtney scored 27 points in the win over ODU. Even though the games were at home, Delaware beat two of the recent powers in the conference -- ODU and Mason -- in the same week. Taking down VCU on Wednesday and Northeastern on Saturday would certainly serve notice that Delaware is in the race for the whole season. Regardless, Delaware has made itself relevant again after some lean years following the highly successful Mike Brey-era at the school.

Netflix expands Internet viewing option
Although Apple hasn't confirmed anything yet, Chief Executive Steve Jobs is expected to make it official during a presentation Tuesday in San Francisco. Netflix is gearing up for the increased competition by expanding a year-old feature that streams movies over the Internet instead of making customers wait for their online rental requests to be delivered through the mail. Until now, Netflix restricted how long its more than 7 million subscribers could use the streaming service each month, based on how much they pay to rent DVDs. For instance, under a popular plan that charges $16.99 per month to rent up to three DVDs at a time, Netflix customers could watch as many as 17 hours of entertainment each month on the streaming service, dubbed "Watch Instantly." With Monday's change, virtually all Netflix subscribers will be able to stream as many movies and TV shows as they want from a library containing more than 6,000 titles.

A software rollback fixed the problem on the activation servers, but not on the servers that validate downloads and other post-activation transactions. Software Vista Fails to Improve on Windows XP's Opening Act
Well, to be honest... no matter what Microsoft does they'll be scrutinized for it :P. If they only released a 64-bit edition of Vista, someone would complain that they wanted 32-bit and Microsoft is forcing tech changes to an OS with worse driver support and yadda yadda yadda.I actually find it amusing when someone tells me Vista is garbage or something to that effect. I ask them why and it tends to be something along the lines of, "I heard...." .
